1) Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Scholarship for High School Seniors

The Coca-Coal Scholars Program Scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating highschool seniors each year. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, ant their commitment to making significant impact on their schools and communities. 2) Bluebird Foundation Scholarship

1) Prudential Spirit of Community Awards : Students that have made a difference through volunteering over the past year are eligible for this scholarship. You could be honored at the local, state, or national level for your volunteer work. State winners will receive $1000 and a trip to Washington D.C. this spring. 2) Elks Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship

1) University of St. Thomas: Science, Mathematics & Engineering Scholarships: St. Thomas offers two full-tuition and two $8,000 renewable scholarships to students who plan to major in science, math or engineering. Application is available at www.stthomas.edu/scischolar/. The scholarship competition is for current high school seniors entering St. Thomas in the fall of 2017.

2) NFIB Young Entrepreneur Award

Young entrepreneurs who are graduating high school seniors are eligible to receive a 2016 NFIB Young Entrepreneur Award from the NFIB Young Entrepreneur Foundation. Applicants must be entering their freshman year at an accredited two or four year university, college or vocational/technical institute in the Fall of 2016. 3) Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training

Deadline: December 28, 2017.

Criteria: Applicants must be attending college by the Fall 2018 semester and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. This scholarship is open to anyone seeking a higher education.

Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation Scholarships

1) Marshall and Nellie Alworth Memorial Fund Scholarship
Fund Award Amount - $20,000 (over four years)
Deadline: January 15, 2018

Students awarded scholarships in 2016 will receive $20,000 to be distributed over eight semesters ($2,500 per semester) as long as the meet the criteria for keeping the scholarship.
Students must major in an approved mathematics or science field of study
Be a U.S. citizen
Have a composite score of 25 on the ACT test or for those who do not have an ACT score of 25, but plan to retake the ACT test in December or February may submit an application. New test scores must be received in our office by March 1, 2018. SAT scores not accepted.
Have a high school cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Show promise for a career in mathematics or the sciences. Commit to a major in an approved mathematics
or science field of study.
Have demonstrated qualities of character, perseverance and ambition.
Be from a family whose taxable income is less than $120,000 ( IRS 1040 tax form)
FAFSA/SAR Report (page 1 expected Family Contribution Number: deadline February 15, 2018).
Two letters of recommendation are required; one letter must be from a math or science teacher.

2) Marguerite Gilmore Scholarship (Wells Fargo Wealth Management Minnesota Scholarship Program)

Deadline: January 28, 2018

Applicants must be in the top 8% of their graduating class and plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate study of teaching, business or engineering at an accredited four year college or university. 3) Minnesota Power’s Community Involvement Scholarship

Fund: $2,500

4) Oscar and Mary W Mitchell Scholarship Fund
Eligibility Requirements:
A high school senior in a public or private high school in Duluth, MN or northeastern, MN
In the upper twenty percent of their class.
Be U.S. citizens or legal residents.
Demonstrate traits of high personal character.
Demonstrate financial need.
May attend any campus of the University of Minnestoa system: Twin Cities, Duluth, Morris, Crookston, Rochester or any accredited PRIVATE FOUR YEAR college in the US.

5) Mensa Education and Research Foundation Scholarsip
Applicants do not have to be Mensa members. They must be enrolled in a degree program in an accredited U.S. institution of higher learning during the 2018 academic year and they must submit an application and essay explaining their career, academic and/or vocational goals.  Minnesota Mensa, which includes parts of western Wisconsin, will be offering a $500 scholarship to one applicant and there are additional scholarships available at the regional and national level, as well as for those meeting particular criteria (field of study, returning students, etc.).

6) Union Plus Scholarships

Eligibility:  Current and retired members of participating unions, their spouses and their dependent children (as defined by IRS regulations). At least one year of continuous union membership by the applicant, applicant's spouse or parent (if applicant is a dependent). The one year membership minimum must be satisfied by May 31, 2018.

1) Minnesota Family Involvement Council Scholarships

The MNFIC will award four $1,000 scholarships and twelve $500 scholarships to seniors who plan to attend an accredited post-secondary institution in the fall of 2016. Applicant must be a member in good standing of a credit union associated with the Minnesota Credit Union Network. A 500 word essay is part of the application process. 2) Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship

This foundation awards minority high school senior students four-year scholarships of up to $7,500 per year to attend an accredited 4-year institution of their choice within the U.S. To be eligible, you must be a minority, show leadership potential, demonstrate a dedication to community service, have financial need, and have a composite ACT score of 21. 3) Catch A Break Scholarship Program

Four year scholarships up to $10,000/year will be awarded to U.S. Citizens/Minnesota residents who have been admitted to a 4-year public college or university in Minnesota, and have an ACT composite score of 24 or higher. Applicant must have faced challenges in life and learned from them, must be highly motivated and know why you want a college education, and your family's household income must show significant financial stress/challenge in paying for your college education. 6) Rotary Essay Contest

Juniors and Seniors: A $150 award for regional competition; district level has a prize award $1,100. The essay can be any topic, but must apply the principles of the 4-way Rotary Test:
1) Is it the TRUTH? 2) Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3) Will it build GOODWILL AND BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4) Will it be beneficial to all concerned? Essay should be 500-1,000 words.

7) Ionic Lodge 186 Minnesota Masonic Charities Matching Funds Scholarships

Three $2,000 matching funds scholarships offered to graduating seniors. Eligibility: GPA is a prime factor, must submit an official transcript, a letter about yourself, one-page essay on what "free masonry" is(Masonic relationship is not a requirement).

9) Alpha Kappa Psi Scholarship Fund

2) Eleventh District Bar Association Scholarship

The association awards one non renewable $2,500 scholarship for 2017 for students interested in pursuing a law degree. Please contact the guidance counselor for information.

4) Simon Youth Community Scholarship Program

To be eligible, applicants must:

Be a high school senior attending school and living within 50 miles of the Simon® or Washington Prime property associated with the application

Be a legal U.S. resident

Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school in Fall 2016

Demonstrate academic promise and financial need

Applicants will be evaluated based on academic promise, financial need, essay response, work experience and community/extracurricular involvement.

Scholarships in the amount of $1,500, one at each Simon® or Washington Prime property, will be awarded annually and are not renewable.

5) Minnesota's Women's Golf Association Foundation

Fund Award: $3,000 per year, renewable for 4 consecutive years

Eligibility 3.2 GPA, financial need, and quality of character. Candidate shall demonstrate an interest or involvement in the sport of golf.

6) Minnesota Masonic Charities Scholarship

Eligibility based on merit and determined by GPA, ranging from 3.0-4.o. These are renewable scholarships up to $5,000. Seniors interested in vocational/technical school to acquire an associate's degree may be considered for the Vocational Scholarships (GPA 2.5 or higher).

11) Women in Technology Scholarship

WITS will support women who are accepted into 2-4 year college or universities. The scholarship is based on on academic performance, and essay and participation in community services and/or extracurricular activities. Multiple scholarships of up to $2,500 awarded to candidates pursuing a career in computer science, information technology, management information systems, or related fields. 12) Spirit of Anne Frank Scholarships

Awarded to high school seniors that have proven themselves exceptional leaders in combating intolerance, prejudice and injustice in their school and community. A 1,000 word essay and two letters of recommendation are required. One winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship. Additional runners-up will receive on time stipends towards their college education. 15)  Clean Air Choice Bio-diesel Scholarship

Current high school seniors in the state of Minnesota with plans to attend post secondary education are eligible to submit a brief (1,000 words or less) essay or a brief (three minutes or less) video on the topic of bio-diesel.  Two scholarships will be awarded.  The first place finisher will receive a $1,000 scholarship; the second place finisher will receive a $500 scholarship.   The application form and scholarship rules are attached and students can apply for the scholarship online at www.CleanAirChoice.org.

All essays, videos and application materials must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 30, 2018.


1) US-Rok Korean War Service Members Memorial Scholarship Initiative

Eligibility Requirements:
a) The applicant is a descendant of the Korean War service member (served from June 25, 1950 to January 31, 1955.
b) Applicant will be a freshman, sophomore, or junior in four year college or will be a first year or second year student in vocational/technical college or community college.

3) Clean Air Choice Biodiesel Essay/Video Scholarship

Award up to six $1,000 scholarships. Winners will be chosen based on a written essay.

2) 2018 Minnesota Athletes in Sports Medicine Scholarship Sports and Orthopaedic Specialists

The Women’s Orthopaedic Center and Allina Health are proud to present the 8th annual Minnesota Athletes in Sports Medicine Scholarship. Two $2,500.00 scholarships are available and will be awarded to one male and one female student athlete who intend to pursue a professional career in sports medicine. Qualified candidates should demonstrate leadership, be actively involved in their community and interscholastic sports and achieve academic success.

Scholarship criteria: 1. Graduating high school senior male from the state of Minnesota. 2. Planning on attending a four-year college or university within the United States. 3. Involved in an interscholastic sport each of their 4 years in high school. 4. Intending to major in a field related to sports medicine.

a) Student must be a participant in 2018 Spring League
b) Student athlete must be a high school senior graduating in 2018.

d) Student athlete must adhere to all school district rules, policies and requirements concerning student activities including, but not limited to attendance, conduct, scholastic standing and other eligibility requirements.

Pell-eligibility, enrollment by fall with a commitment to pursue and complete a career or technical certificate/degree and United States citizenship are required.
